Ginger Turmeric Health Drink Recipe



  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • A pinch of black pepper (to enhance the absorption of turmeric)
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of heat)


  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Grate the fresh ginger and gather all the spices (turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using).
  2. Heat the Water and Milk:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the water and milk. Heat over medium heat until it begins to steam, but do not let it boil.
  3. Add the Spices:
    • Add the grated ginger, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper to the saucepan. If using, add a pinch of cayenne pepper as well.
  4. Simmer:
    • Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure all the spices are well mixed.
  5. Sweeten (Optional):
    • If you prefer a sweeter drink, add honey or maple syrup to taste. Stir until fully dissolved.
  6. Strain and Serve:
    • Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a mug to remove the ginger pieces and any undissolved spices.
    • Serve warm and enjoy!
