Ginger Turmeric Health Drink Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup water
1 cup milk (or a dairy-free alternative)
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
A pinch of black pepper (to enhance the absorption of turmeric)
A pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for a bit of heat)
Instructions:
Prepare the Ingredients:
Grate the fresh ginger and gather all the spices (turmeric, cinnamon, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if using).
Heat the Water and Milk:
In a small saucepan, combine the water and milk. Heat over medium heat until it begins to steam, but do not let it boil.
Add the Spices:
Add the grated ginger, ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of black pepper to the saucepan. If using, add a pinch of cayenne pepper as well.
Simmer:
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure all the spices are well mixed.
Sweeten (Optional):
If you prefer a sweeter drink, add honey or maple syrup to taste. Stir until fully dissolved.
Strain and Serve:
Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the mixture into a mug to remove the ginger pieces and any undissolved spices.
Serve warm and enjoy!
