These balls are wonderful to bake! My husband liked it so much he ate an entire plate!


1 pound ground sausage (choose mild or hot to taste)

2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

3/4 cup buttermilk baking mix


1 tablespoon milk

1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder


First, preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and prepare a baking tray by lining it with baking paper or lightly greasing it.

In a large bowl, mix together the ground sausage, cheddar cheese, buttermilk baking mix, milk and garlic powder until well combined. Form 2.5 cm balls from the mixture.Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown and baked through. To make sure they are cooked, cut a piece in half, making sure the center is no longer pink.


After baking, arrange the sausage cheese balls on a platter and let them cool for a few minutes before serving. They are best enjoyed hot.
