Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream with Fudge Sauce


  • Ingredients:

    For the Ice Cream:

    • 2 cups heavy cream
    • 1 cup whole milk
    • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

    For the Cookie Dough:

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 2 tablespoons milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup mini chocolate chips

For the Fudge Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


1. Make the Cookie Dough:

  • In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Mix in the milk and vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until combined.
  • Stir in the mini chocolate chips.
  • Roll the dough into small balls (about 1/2 inch in diameter) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Freeze the cookie dough balls until firm, about 1-2 hours.

2. Make the Ice Cream:


  • In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • During the last 5 minutes of churning, add the mini chocolate chips.
  • Transfer the ice cream to a freezer-safe container, gently folding in the frozen cookie dough balls.
  • Freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours, or until firm.

3. Make the Fudge Sauce:

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, light corn syrup, brown sugar, and unsweetened cocoa powder.
  • Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring frequently.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Allow the fudge sauce to cool slightly before serving.

4. Serve:

  • Scoop the homemade chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream into bowls.
  • Drizzle with warm fudge sauce.
  • Garnish with additional mini chocolate chips or cookie crumbs, if desired.
