Garlic Butter Steak with Roasted Potatoes

Ingredients:

For the Steak:

  • 4 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Fresh thyme, chopped (optional, for garnish)

For the Roasted Potatoes:

  • 1.5 pounds baby potatoes, halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

Roasting the Potatoes:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Prepare Potatoes: In a large bowl, toss the halved baby potatoes with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme until well coated.
  3. Roast: Spread the potatoes out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, turning them halfway through cooking.

Cooking the Steak:

  1. Season Steaks: Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Sear the Steaks: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until hot. Add the steaks and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on your preferred level of doneness (3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare). Adjust cooking time as needed for thicker or thinner steaks.
  3. Add Garlic and Butter: Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and butter to the skillet. Allow the butter to melt, then spoon the garlic butter over the steaks. Continue to cook for another 1-2 minutes, basting the steaks with the garlic butter.
  4. Rest Steaks: Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serving:

  1. Plate the Dish: Arrange the roasted potatoes on a serving platter. Place the steaks on top or alongside the potatoes.
  2. Garnish: Drizzle the remaining garlic butter from the skillet over the steaks. Garnish with fresh parsley and thyme if using.
  3. Serve: Serve immediately while hot, with your favorite steak sauce or additional butter if desired.

This garlic butter steak with roasted potatoes is a perfect dish for a special dinner, offering a wonderful combination of flavors and textures. Enjoy
