  • 1 pound ground beef: Choose a lean variety for less grease.
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped: Adds flavor and texture.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese: Gives the classic cheeseburger taste.
  • 1/2 cup diced pickles (optional): Adds a tangy crunch.
  • 1/4 cup ketchup: For sweetness and moisture.
  • 2 tablespoons mustard: Adds a bit of tanginess.
  • Salt and pepper to taste: To season the mixture.
  • 1 package egg roll wrappers: Usually found in the refrigerated section of grocery stores.
  • Cooking spray: For crisping the egg rolls in the air fryer.


  1. Cook the Beef:
    • Place a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add the ground beef and chopped onion to the skillet.
    • Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and the onions are soft and translucent. This should take about 8-10 minutes.
    • Drain any excess fat from the skillet and transfer the beef and onion mixture to a large bowl.
  2. Mix the Filling:
    • To the bowl with the cooked beef and onions, add the shredded cheddar cheese, diced pickles (if using), ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper.
    • Stir everything together until all the ingredients are well combined and the cheese starts to melt slightly from the heat of the beef.
  3. Prepare the Egg Rolls:
    • Take an egg roll wrapper and lay it out on a clean, flat surface with one corner pointing towards you, so it looks like a diamond.
    • Place about 2 tablespoons of the cheeseburger filling in the center of the wrapper.
    • Fold the bottom corner up over the filling.
    • Fold in the two side corners snugly against the filling.
    • Roll the wrapper tightly towards the top corner, like a burrito, ensuring it is well-sealed. Use a dab of water to moisten the top corner and seal the egg roll.
    • Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers and filling until all the mixture is used.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer:
    • Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat for about 5 minutes.
  5. Cook the Egg Rolls:
    • Lightly spray the egg rolls on all sides with cooking spray. This helps them get crispy and golden brown.
    • Place the egg rolls in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not touching each other to allow for even cooking.
    • Cook the egg rolls for 10-12 minutes, turning them halfway through the cooking time to ensure they crisp up evenly on all sides.
    • They should be golden brown and crispy when done.
  6. Serve:
    • Carefully remove the egg rolls from the air fryer and let them cool slightly before serving.
    • Serve them with additional ketchup, mustard, or your favorite dipping sauces for an extra burst of flavor.
