Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and well combined.
    • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Add the Chocolate Chips:
    • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  5. Spread the Dough:
    • Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool and Cut:
    • Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles.
  8. Serve:
    • Enjoy your homemade chocolate chip cookie bars with a glass of milk or as a delightful treat on their own.
