CINNAMON CAKE CAKE

DID YOU GET THIS RECIPE?
Christmas means you’ll find fruitcakes on sale in every store. Multifruitcake

. Actually, more than zero is too much for me. I don’t like fruit bread. It doesn’t look attractive at all. Today is Foodie Extravaganza Day and this month’s theme is, as you might guess, fruit pie. I thought about giving up, but then decided that I would make and eat fruitcake instead of the traditional fruitcake. I found something so good it happened so quickly. I actually gave away most of it, but the ones I kept we ate right away. I hope you enjoy this Cinnamon Apple Pie for my FoodieExtravaganza Challenge this month. Scroll to the end of this post to find the other 8 seed pods.

There is this apple orchard at my friends place. In fact, they grow all kinds of things: apples, pears, pears, tomatoes, corn, potatoes, green beans, peas, I could go on. I brought apples twice this fall. I canned the apples with applesauce. This is very good. The last batch they brought me went into cake. Actually some of the last classes because I had a big bag with me.

While doing this, I decided to use these beautiful baskets and give them to the ladies I visit. I hope they like the cake. I also used two small, 6-inch, half-crust pans. You can use a 9×13 pan, but a bundt pan would also be fine.

Whatever you decide to make, I hope you enjoy the cake. This time of year is truly beautiful with the wonderful smell of cinnamon coming from your kitchen.
