How to make perfect scones

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup unsalted, cold and stored
1 cup Ultramel custard (or vanilla custard if Ultramel is not available)
1 egg, for egg wash
Optional: 1/2 cup dried or freeze-dried. for extra flavor
For the coating (optional):

1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons Ultramel preservative
1-2 tablespoons milk or cream, adjust to taste

Instructions:

1. Prepare the dough:

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Cutting the butter: Add cold, melted butter to the dry ingredients. Using a rolling pin or your fingers, cut the butter into the mixture until it forms small balls and the remaining pieces are the size of peas. Add
Ultramel Custard: Pour in the Ultramel water and mix gently with a whisk until the dough comes together. Skip this step if you add raisins or dried apricots.
2. Making the buns:

Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the baking tray on the baking tray.
To prepare the dough: Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times. Roll the dough into a 1-inch round disk. Cut the dough into strips using a rolling pin or rolling pin, or use a circle around the round bun.
