Creamy Skillet Corn

 

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups corn kernels (fresh, frozen, or canned, drained)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Paprika or chili powder, for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Corn:
    • If using fresh corn, cut the kernels off the cob. If using frozen corn, thaw and drain. If using canned corn, drain well.
  2. Cook the Corn:
    • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the corn kernels and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the corn is heated through and starts to lightly brown.
  3. Make the Cream Sauce:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, milk, and flour until smooth. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the corn.
  4. Season the Corn:
    • Add the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
  5. Simmer the Mixture:
    • Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens and the corn is tender and creamy.
  6. Garnish and Serve:
    • Transfer the creamy corn to a serving dish. Sprinkle with paprika or chili powder for a pop of color and a hint of spice.
