Steak Alfredo Pasta Recipe

Ingredients:

  • For the Steak:
    • 2 ribeye steaks (or your preferred cut)
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • For the Alfredo Sauce:
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
    • 1 cup heavy cream
    • 3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
  • For the Pasta:
    • 12 ounces fettuccine or linguine
    • Salt for the pasta water
  • For Garnish:
    • Fresh parsley, chopped
    • Grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak:
    • Season the steaks generously with salt and black pepper on both sides.
    • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil.
    • Once the oil is hot, add the steaks to the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
    • During the last minute of cooking, add the minced garlic and butter to the skillet, basting the steaks with the melted butter and garlic.
    • Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a cutting board for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
  2. Cook the Pasta:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
    • Add the fettuccine or linguine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
    • Drain the pasta, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water, and set aside.
  3. Prepare the Alfredo Sauce:
    • In the same skillet used for the steaks, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    • Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer, stirring constantly.
    • Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
    • Season with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg (if using) to taste.
    • If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach the desired consistency.
  4. Combine the Pasta and Sauce:
    • Add the cooked pasta to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.
    • If needed, add more pasta water to loosen the sauce.
  5. Serve:
    • Slice the rested steaks into thin strips.
    • Serve the Alfredo pasta on plates, topped with the sliced steak.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and additional grated Parmesan cheese.

Enjoy your delicious Steak Alfredo Pasta, a rich and satisfying meal that combines tender, flavorful steak with creamy, cheesy pasta. Perfect for a special dinner or any time you crave a comforting, indulgent dish.
